An Overnight Trip to Pampanga: A Photo Dump

1 Comment 10 November 2011

It is rare that my brothers and I get together on an out-of-town trip. When my brother called me on the wee hours of October 31st, telling me we are going to Pampanga in the afternoon, I just had to say yes, even when I know I’m going to have to take Mark with me on his post-dialysis state.

Because we couldn’t make it to the said meet up time, Mark and I decided to take the bus to Sta. Rita, Pampanga where one of my brothers promised to pick us up. The sudden trip turned out to be one of the best get togethers I had with my brothers.

Of course, no trip is ever complete without pictures!

Farmville in Pampanga

This is the estate of my brother’s friend. I never realized how vast this place was (and how beautiful), until I got to “tour” the place the next morning. I was surprised to know that aside from 2 indoor pools and 1 outdoor pool, the place has a big pond, countless roosters, all sorts of birds, rabbits and a lot more. It feels like we have checked in at a private resort for free.

Fish Pond!

This is the fish pond where my brothers, nieces and nephews went fishing the next morning.

Walking in this part of the estate feels like having your own park.

Unleashing the child in you

I couldn’t help but play with my nieces and nephews in this playground.

Swing! Swing! - No, I

Roosters everywhere

There were roosters everywhere I looked!

Cock Fight!

These Flightless Birds

I wasn’t able to take notes of all the names of the birds I took photos of… but here are some of them.

A very shy bird. Every time I take a photo, the bird looks away from me.

This one likes his photo taken. He smiled and posed for me!

Nigel, the Cockatoo

Among all the birds I’ve seen, this one is my favorite. I got to hold Nigel! Although I’m a little scared, Nigel was very friendly and seemed to be used to people holding and petting him.

It was a very fun trip! Never mind that we had to cram ourselves into one car going home – at least no one farted. With boys like my brothers around, a random smelly fart is very possible.

On a closing note…

The family that plays

Billiards with my brothers

and swims together..

stays together.
